Cookie Policy

Last updated July 2026

1. Our approach

Trace uses two kinds of cookies and similar technologies. Essential first-party cookies — the ones needed to sign you in and keep your session secure — are always active. Analytics and marketing tags on our marketing site (tracej.com) load only if you accept them in the cookie banner; until you do, none of them run.

Essential cookies do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive. Everything else is off by default and stays off unless you opt in.

2. Essential cookies (always on)

  • Authentication session: first-party, httpOnly cookies set by our authentication provider (Supabase) that keep you signed in and rotate your session token securely. Cleared when you sign out.
  • Session markers: small first-party cookies that let the app and edge layer know you are signed in and which plan you are on, so protected pages load without an extra round-trip.
  • Consent choice: your Accept/Decline answer to the cookie banner, stored in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again on every visit.

All of the above are first-party and set on tracej.com / app.tracej.com. They are not shared with advertisers and are not used to profile you.

3. Analytics & marketing (only with your consent)

If you click Accept in the cookie banner on tracej.com, we load the following third-party tags, which may set their own cookies to measure visits and ad performance:

  • Google Analytics: aggregate visit and traffic-source statistics (loaded via Google Consent Mode).
  • Meta Pixel: measures whether our Facebook/Instagram ads lead to sign-ups.
  • TikTok Pixel: the same measurement for TikTok ads.

If you click Decline (or simply ignore the banner), none of these scripts load and no advertising or analytics cookies are set. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, a first-party, cookieless service that counts page views in aggregate without identifying or tracking you across sites.

4. Third-party cookies at checkout

When you open the checkout, our payment provider Paddle may set its own cookies to process the transaction securely and prevent fraud. These are governed by Paddle's own privacy and cookie policies.

5. Managing cookies & withdrawing consent

You can change your mind at any time: the Cookie settings link in the site footer clears your stored choice and shows the banner again, where you can accept or decline afresh. Declining never limits what Trace can do for you.

You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in and using the Service. Signing out from the app clears your authentication cookies.
